Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $77,000 to $139,200/year. Learn more about the benefits of working at UC Brief Summary of Job Duties: Under the direction of the Director of Applications Development, and with a high degree of individual responsibility, the incumbent performs full-stack web application development, including application design, analysis, programming, release planning, maintenance, and support for Academic Affairs Information Technology (AAIT) and its supported units (Offices of the Chancellor, Finance and Resource Management, Budget and Planning, Executive Vice Chancellor, Academic Personnel, Academic Senate, Title IX Compliance and Discrimination and Harassment Prevention, Education Partnership, Ombuds, College of Creative Studies, Teaching and Learning, and Instructional Development). Solution scope includes core web applications, data stores, interfaces, and processes that include moderate to complex interactions between staff, faculty, and committees. The incumbent builds interfaces using data from various systems, including relational databases, semi-structured data sources, and web service APIs. The incumbent will lead and participate in the development and migration to new technologies of information systems and functionality, identifying strategies and opportunities for innovation and automation. Has a demonstrated broad set of problem solving skills in order to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Solution scope includes core applications, data stores, interfaces, and processes that include moderate to complex interactions between staff, faculty, and committees. The incumbent builds interfaces using data from various systems, including relational databases, semi-structured data sources, and web service APIs. The incumbent will lead and participate in the development and migration to new technologies of information systems and functionality, identifying strategies and opportunities for innovation and automation. Leads and participates in multiple cross-functional and cross-organizational mission critical projects. Maintains multiple configurations of the application, including development, test and production configurations. Understands and applies industry practices, community standards and department policies and procedures relating to work assignments. Participates in design and code reviews to ensure clear interpretation of requirements and highest quality of application development. Developed applications must be reliable and exhibit a well-developed understanding of usability factors. Assess existing applications for methods to improve reliability and usability to customers. Database Administration (10%): Works in conjunction with the Director of Information Infrastructure with the configuration, maintenance, and support of SQL server and databases. Configures systems to adapt to changing business process needs and services. Assesses the complex impacts of maintenance and version releases, establishes scheduling and coordination of maintenance and upgrades. Installs and tests vendor-provided upgrades, version releases, and patches. Coordinates and implements data conversion, remediation programming, and SQL data manipulation to address data changes required by changing application requirements. Other Duties (5%): Trains users in conversion and implementation of systems. Develops and maintains desk manual detailing key information relating to job process. Attends classes/seminars to increase knowledge and skills. Participates in planning and project progress meetings. Serves on relevant committees and workgroups as assigned. Contributes to departmental meetings, planning, and improvement initiatives. Performs other essential tasks as required to ensure the operability and functionality of AAIT applications, services, and infrastructure.
