Medical Assistant Waldorf, MD Pay From: $19 per hour MUST: Experienced Medical Assistant 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant 1+ years of experience assisting in a medical office Must have experience with EMR Must have experience taking patient vitals Must have prior authorization experience Must have EKG experience Must have experience working in a busy multi-physician practice Holter Monitor experience is highly preferred DUTIES: Optimizes patients satisfaction, provider time, and exam room utilization by efficiently and accurately scheduling appointments Provides instructions and directions to patients regarding diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments Respond to patient calls and emails within a timely manner Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, manual blood pressure, EKGS, pulse and temperature, and document all information in the patients EMR chart Prepping and placement of heart monitors, INR finger sticks and treadmill setup. Obtain and records patient medical history, vital signs, medical dosage, and frequency and obtain authorization for medications when necessary Maintain stocks of machines and medical supplies as necessary Disinfects and cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations; maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies and properly dispose of contaminated supplies Protects patients' rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information per HIPAA regulations.
