Job Description

This position is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the assigned functional area (Assembly) to ensure appropriate resources are available to produce a quality product, safely and efficiently.

The hours are Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day tactical responsibilities of the functional area and remove roadblocks for department employees.
  • First response for technical or quality issues, troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Ensure all tools, materials, and paperwork are available prior to starting the job.
  • Liaison between employees and supervisors; get questions answered in a timely manner.
  • Support and drive a data-driven, metric-focused organization - meet and/or exceed department goals for: safety, quality, on time delivery, and Lean Assist in initiating and following up on Engineering/BOM changes.
  • Provide daily direction to production personnel and ensure that all are properly utilizing system tools and filling out necessary documentation.
  • Routinely operates/assembles to ensure on time delivery.
  • Implement and maintain standardized work.
  • Ensure all documents are properly updated in document system.
  • Responsible to ensure employees perform duties in a safe manner; support all safety and environmental rules and environmental initiatives.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives to provide ongoing continuous improvement ideas for products, process, and procedures.
  • Maintains ISO-9001 standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and foster a safety-first, Lean culture.
  • Ability to read and follow specifications, blue-prints, and schematics.
  • Must Understand Electrical Theory and Trouble shooting Skills
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Ability to learn how to properly handle overhead cranes safely.
  • Experience with operating hand held tools
  • Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Lean concepts

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer terminal, expansive reading, etc.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
