Our team will train you on what it's like to work as a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to help you determine if this could be the career for you as you transition to civilian life. At S&ME, our Construction Materials Engineering Technicians are essential to getting the job done right. You'll be in the field helping ensure that certain materials used to build everything from restaurants to stadiums meet the right standards for quality and safety. There is significant room for growth as you gain more experience, obtain more certifications, and take on more responsibility, should you see yourself in a leadership or project management role one day. What You'll Do:
What to Expect: Please note this will apply if hired on full time. During the program your work hours will not exceed 40 hours. With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), this physically active job involves outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions. You'll be walking over rough terrain, standing for long periods (up to 12 hours), lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment, and safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites. Experience shifting work hours based on project needs and weather conditions, including early mornings, some Saturdays, and overtime (paid at time and a half). Travel expenses (per-diem/lodging) are covered when assisting other offices. What We're Looking For:
