This position is located at our main offices in Lancaster, MA and offers a hybrid office and work-from-home schedule. Team members are expected to be in the office three consistent days a week on days that are mutually agreed upon with their manager. Very occasional additional days working in the office, or night or weekend responsibilities may be assigned.
Position Summary
Directly reporting to and working in partnership with the AVP of Strategic Communications, the Marketing and Communications Manager supports agency visibility, fundraising, program marketing, internal communications, and recruitment efforts. This role blends storytelling, branding, digital strategy, and content creation to share RFK Community Alliance's mission widely and with purpose. The ideal candidate is a creative, strategic communicator with strong writing skills, some graphic design skills, and experience managing digital platforms and campaigns. They are organized, detail-oriented, and adept at balancing multiple projects and stakeholders. The position is hybrid, requiring at least 3 days in our offices weekly in Lancaster, Ma.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Storytelling
- Craft compelling stories that showcase the organization's impact.
- Create and curate content for emails, newsletters, social media, website, speeches, and more.
- Maintain a marketing calendar aligned with agency initiatives and key dates.
Branding & Messaging
- Ensure consistency in brand voice, visuals, and messaging across platforms.
- Develop multi-channel campaigns to support fundraising, visibility, recruitment, and program enrollment.
- Design marketing materials (flyers, brochures, ads, etc.) and manage external designers for larger projects.
- Guide staff across the organization on brand optimization within their programs and divisions.
Digital Marketing
- Manage and grow social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn).
- Create and deploy strategic email campaigns and newsletters.
- Update and optimize the organization's website (Sanity.io).
- Create/edit videos and collaborate with vendors on larger video projects.
Events & Community Engagement
- Promote, create flyers and decor for, and support and attend key events (gala, golf tournament, bikeathon, holiday drives).
- Write and distribute press releases.
- Identify opportunities for media engagement and community visibility.
Strategy & Analytics
- Contribute to strategic marketing plans that align with agency goals.
- Analyze and report on marketing performance (social media, email, web traffic).
- Recommend improvements based on data and best practices.
- Keep current on nonprofit marketing trends and best practices.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support RFK Community Alliance programs and divisions with marketing planning and needs.
- Support internal communications with collateral, content, and tools.
- Adhere to marketing and design budgets.
- Capture high-quality photos/videos; edit videos
- Document marketing processes and workflows.
- Keep files organized and easy to search.
Qualifications
- At least 3-4 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to write effective copy for multiple channels and purposes.
- Team player capable of developing work plans, managing projects, and executing a variety of tasks as part of a fast-paced team.
- Must be comfortable with some design work in a program like Canva, Illustrator, etc and able to handle basic design projects (flyers, invitations, social, etc.)
- Comfortable taking video and photography and editing video.
- Digital marketing, social media, and/or some basic design experience. Must be able to show examples of your previous work.
