Job Summary The Director, Market Access primary responsibilities will be to lead the design and execution of Market Access strategies and tactics for the Pharma business. This position leads the development and execution of strategies to secure reimbursement and optimize access for Fresenius Kabi's pharmaceutical products. The individual must be able to successfully facilitate and complete projects in a matrix environment while collaborating closely with Marketing and other Commercial colleagues.

This role builds clinical and economic value propositions, supports new product launches, and aligns payer strategies with business objectives across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial markets. Success requires deep understanding of U.S. reimbursement landscapes - namely Part B and Part D - and the ability to influence key stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.

Salary Range: $170,000 - $220,000 per year
Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 16% of the base salary. Position is also eligible to participate in our medium-term incentive plan. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.   • Lead the design and execution of market access strategies and tactics.
  • Provide recommendations, build actionable strategies, and develop content for individual payer customers.
  • Implement Fresenius Kabi marketing vision and strategies for pharma products.
  • Understand the nuances of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial regulations and impact on payer contracting and discounting
  • Lead the development and execution of market access strategies to support successful new product launches across all payer channels.
  • Build a strategy and value proposition that conveys the clinical and economic solution provided by each unique drug by understanding and articulating the clinical, business, and economic implications for specific stakeholders across the supply chain.
  • Research and strategically develop presentations to convey the clinical value, health care utilization, and derived cost savings of a therapy in a value deck used by National Accounts.
  • Develop plans from research and analytics that identify commercialization opportunities and threats.
  • Direct the outcome of Health Technology Assessments, where they are used to determine coverage, and payment.
  • Recommend strategies with the understanding of U.S. reimbursement policies in a variety of settings, including physician office, hospital outpatient, inpatient, ambulatory surgery centers and pharmacy dispensed.
  • Be able to partner, influence, educate and persuade across multiple external and internal stakeholders and partners to implement and execute the Market Access strategy.
  • Monitor lessons learned based on historical performance and identify implications to enhance marketing materials as well as strategies to improve market access.
  • Attends local, national, and global meetings as needed.
  • Completes all training requirements, including all department-specific, compliance training, etc.
  • Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.
  • As part of Top Management, you have the overall responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, including the following:
    • taking overall responsibility and accountability for the prevention of work-related injuries and ill health, the protection of the environment, as well as the provision of safe, harmless, and healthy workplaces,
    • ensuring that the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems' policies and related objectives are established and are compatible with the strategic direction of the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • 10+ years related work experience, including 5 years in market access and commercial pharma.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry or hospital/pharmacy products sales and marketing preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of management/leadership experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Microsoft Excel at the advanced level experience required, including superior analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to make recommendations based on analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects with demonstrated time management skills.
  • Effective project manager, clear communicator with matrix leadership capabilities; understanding of the applicable legal and regulatory environment.
  • Must be able to develop and lead highly productive teams with a focus on individual accountability.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally to attend meetings/trainings/programs/customer visits (approximately 10%) and is based on business need (via public transportation: air/auto); may require overnight travel.
  • Must maintain all requirements for access to customer sites, including active and current compliance with all credentialing requirements (may include COVID-19 and annual influenza vaccinations), in order to perform the essential functions of the role at customer locations.
  • Ability to work and manage change within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate and partner effectively with multiple stakeholders at all levels across the commercial organization, both virtually and in-person, to align on operational objectives and provide consistent leadership, guidance, and inspiration.
  • Clear and effective communication, listening and presentation skills accompanied with strong critical thinking, problem resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
