Inova Retail and Specialty Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist Retail to join the team. This role will be full-time rotating shift: Monday - Friday.

Pharmacist Retail Job Responsibilities:



  • Prepares and manages the process of reviewing medications, interpreting physician orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities, and delivering medications to patients and consumers.
  • Provides compassionate and pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of healthcare professionals, patients, families, and respective caregivers.
  • Completes Pharmacy operational requirements by organizing/directing technicians' work flows, verifying their preparation/labeling of pharmaceuticals and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
  • Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state Board of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Food and Drug Administration.
  • Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor degree in Pharmacy
  • Experience: Three (3) years' experience as a Pharmacist.
  • Licensure: Licensed Pharmacist in the state of VA.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
