Purpose of Job

The Inventory and Logistics Manager is responsible for all processes related to the storage, movement, and distribution of supplies for the Ridgeview system, ensuring processes are efficient and effective through best practices while keeping customer needs and demands a top priority. This position will also support process related to maintaining the courier vehicles, directs the work required to evaluate and implement inventory and supply distribution management tools and programs and has responsibility for the Ridgeview courier system, including route optimization for scheduled and urgent requests.

Job Functions


  1. Provides leadership and oversight of the inventory, distribution, and courier tasks in Materials Management. Supports the department director through development of programs, goals and objectives consistent with those of the organizations' overall strategic plan and initiatives.
  2. Manages staff resources by overseeing recruiting, selecting, hiring, and orienting qualified individuals. Evaluates staff performance in an accurate, consistent, objective, and timely manner. Develops core position hiring strategies and ensures opportunities for professional development while creating cohesive team committed to providing service quality to all customers.
  3. Manages operating expenses and key indicators within the budget for Materials Management budgets for multiple locations. Supports department director in quality improvement efforts and service delivery that contributes to the overall success and financial viability of Materials Management
  4. Reviews and monitors applicable policies and procedures. As assigned, ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agency standards.
  5. Maintains clinical competencies and/or knowledge in accord with scope and responsibility of the position.
  6. May participate on organizational and medical staff committees and serve as a professional resource for physicians, clinicians, and leadership. May also collaborate with physicians and clinicians regarding supply related value analysis programs and services. May represent Materials Management and Ridgeview in community outreach including participation on committees and in doing presentations.
  7. Proactively identifies and acts upon improvement projects and opportunities through observation, data analysis, engagement with partners, review of external impact factors and best practices, as well as ongoing communication with leadership and staff.
  8. Coordinates the prompt and accurate execution of workflows related to the storage, distribution, and delivery of supplies throughout the organization. Ensures special requirements are fulfilled (incoming inspection, electrical safety, etc). Responsible for establishing and tracking metrics that support inventory management best practice and compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  9. Coordinates the prompt and accurate movement of supplies throughout the organization from internal and external supply locations that are performed by the Ridgeview Courier team.
  10. Ensures inventory adjustments are reviewed and monitored as necessary and adjusts work flows as required to mitigate variances. Coordinates the work streams around year end physical inventory for the system.
  11. Ensures the messenger function is appropriately staffed and equipped with tools necessary to facilitate the distribution of internal mail throughout the Ridgeview system.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree or post-secondary combined with equivalent experience
  • 2 to 3 years supervisory or leadership experience with progressive managing responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous healthcare related experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence to complete job functions as mentioned above.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop team
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills and ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • Assures excellent service with a high degree of urgency to internal and external customers
  • Systemic thinking when contemplating and implementing change
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
