Program Coordinator - Health Educator

Overview:

Will actively participate in teaching health education content for K-12 students.

Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

40 Hours/Week during the school year with summers off, 0.8FTE. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends as events occur.

Coordinates various program activities, including communication with stakeholders, scheduling, and resource management, to ensure successful program implementation.

Essential Functions:
  • Implements and upholds the Hospital's values and standards, collaborating with various directors, managers, and community partners to develop program goals and best practice guidelines.
  • Builds and fosters relationships with community organizations, contributing to internal and external committees and promoting staff involvement in these community engagements.
  • Organizes and leads professional seminars, retreats, and team meetings to disseminate relevant updates and information.
  • Documents and prepares reports tracking service outcomes, reimbursement processes, or other requirements as stipulated by the program or funding sources.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of the documentation system for data collection, program evaluations, and grant management.
  • Upholds professional competence, supporting program operations and providing expert consultation to team members on service challenges and dilemmas.

Education Requirement:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Public Health, or related healthcare field, required.
  • Master's Degree, preferred.

Licensure Requirement:

Current licensure in appropriate discipline (such as registered nurse, social worker, etc.) in the State of Ohio if applicable to role, required.

  • Effective customer service, communication (oral, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills required for interaction with contacts.
  • Professionally appropriate analytical and organizational skills required.

Experience:
  • Experience in health-related research, program development and management, budgeting and data management, preferred.
  • One year supervisory experience, preferred.
