GTE Financial is looking for a highly motivated, detailed oriented individual to join our Consumer Lending department asa Consumer Loan Funding Specialist.

The Consumer Loan Funding Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional service to members that have applied and been approved for credit. In addition, provides effective communication of credit union products, services and activities to members and employees. This position is responsible for generating, maintaining, and accurately preparing and processing required loan and title documents. Ensuring loan proceeds are disbursed accurately and communicating with various internal and external channels is essential to this position.

What does GTE look for in a Consumer Loan Funding Specialist?

Funding:

  • Collects, maintains and accurately prepares and processes loan documentation in accordance with the Loan Processing guidelines.
  • Analyzes loan information quickly to determine if decision is within the consumer lending guidelines and reviews loan documentation for accuracy/completeness.
  • Accountable for managing individual pipeline in a manner which maximizes converting applications to funded loans.
  • Responsible for the posting and accuracy of the loan set-up in core and lending systems.
  • Reconciles consumer loan funding loan packages.
  • Obtains and verifies loan payoff information from external financial institutions.
  • Able to effectively communicate with dealers, financial institutions, and motor vehicle departments

Experience:

  • Responds to members via incoming and outgoing calls as well as through alternative channels.
  • Always provides prompt, courteous, internal and external exceptional member service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to de-escalate members and recommend resolution to supervisor

Operational:

  • Responsible for up to date working knowledge of government rules and regulations and compliance involving consumer lending.
  • Accurately updates and maintains all consumer loan processing funding logs.
  • Accountable for maintaining daily branch (Department) balancing of official checks and electronic funds
  • Responsible for meeting individual department production goals as determined by management.
  • Accountable for complete knowledge and comprehension of credit union policies, guidelines, consumer loan and credit union philosophy.
  • Communicates to members in both written and verbal format through various channels.
  • Adhering to Consumer Loan Phone Expectations.
  • Participates and contributes to a positive teamwork environment which encourages team commitment to corporate and departmental goals.
  • Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of compliance on an annual basis.
  • Must keep up to date on any additional regulatory requirements as needed.
  • Ability to accommodate flexible schedule.
  • Works independently and/or group environment and able to set priorities, analyze and evaluate situations and results.
  • Must demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
  • Qualifies for NMLS registration according to the Safe Act.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience or a combination of education and experience.

Position Details:

  • Location: Downtown Tampa - GTE Headquarters
  • Department Hours: Monday- Friday (9:00 am to 6:00 pm) // Saturday (9:00 am to 1:00 pm)

Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.

The position is defined as hybrid in nature, (in-office, or remote) and may be changed at any time by management with appropriate notice, if possible.

Required for Remote/Hybrid Work:

  • A quiet workplace so you can focus on delivering excellent service to our members.
  • Some positions will require performance standards to be met to qualify for alternative work arrangements.
  • Required to have power and high-speed internet over 100MB (minimum).
  • Video capability (connection of 1.5 Mbps up and down recommended).
  • Candidates must provide and meet all technical requirements prior to the first day of training.
  • Hybrid candidates must live within driving distance of the office location and be able to regularly commute to and from the office location as needed.
