Job Description:

The School District of Milton is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Human Resources Specialist to join the Human Resources Department located at the District Office. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, this position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate processing of new hire orientation, explanation of employee benefits, workers compensation and Federal and State reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, great customer service and a thorough understanding of on boarding practices, labor laws, and regulations. Previous experience in a human resource setting as an administrative assistant or specialist is highly valued, as the role also supports various functions within the business office.

The successful candidate will possess strong technology skills and the ability to manage complex tasks or projects with minimal supervision, all while maintaining strict confidentiality. Exceptional organizational and communication skills are essential, as are the abilities to collaborate effectively with others, manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain accurate records. Attention to detail and strong multitasking capabilities are critical for success in this role. Additionally, the Human Resources Specialist will assist with substitute coordination as needed, based on the district's staffing needs.

This is a full-time, year-round position scheduled for eight hours per day, 260 days per year. The anticipated start date is on or before August 25, 2025. A range of $22.40 to $25.60 per hour is offered for administrative assistants with human resources experience. A highly competitive benefits package is also included.

Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have a bachelor's degree in a business-related field or two (2) to four (4) years' related experience and demonstrated experience in human resources, payroll and/or accounting. The ideal applicant will be self-motivated, positive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently. Proficiency in computer applications is required, and familiarity with the district's HRIS system Skyward is also preferred.
