Overview

As a Portfolio Analyst in the Community Development Finance Group (CDFG), you will play an essential role in delivering financial solutions that enhance the lives of those in low- and moderate-income communities across the U.S., particularly in New York City. You will be instrumental in the administration, operations, and asset management of high-impact loans and investments, directly contributing to Deutsche Bank's initiatives in affordable housing, entrepreneurship, economic development, and more. Your work will not only support addressing community needs but also ensure compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), embodying our commitment to New York City community development.

What You'll Do

  • Loan and Investment Lifecycle Management: You will lead client lifecycle management for CDFG, including interfacing with clients, explaining Deutsche Bank's KYC (Know-Your Customer) requirements, procuring needed information, managing information flow and reviewing client KYC documents/information, and keeping up-to-date on internal Deutsche Bank processes and controls related to client onboarding and lifecycle management. You will support transaction set-up and deal closings, including preparing loan set up forms, documents needed for closing, and interfacing with internal closing teams (finance, loan operations) to complete checklist items. You will provide lending and investment support through the life of the transaction, including client onboarding, operations, servicing, and offboarding
  • Loan and Investment Asset Management: You will take a leading role in the ongoing operations of the portfolio and collaborate with internal teams to manage and service loan and equity portfolios. You will support servicing and wiring, including managing capital call processes, performing call backs to confirm the client's wiring instruction, and maintaining internal signing authorizations. You will ensure that loan and investment set-ups are being properly reflected in internal bank data, and perform regular checks on data quality. You will interface with borrower and investee contacts as necessary to ensure receipt of reporting, documentation, and payments on timely basis.
  • Compliance and Reporting: You will support coordination with internal Deutsche Bank stakeholders from Tax, Loan Operations, Regulatory Reporting to appropriately distribute documentation and information on the CDFG portfolio. You will serve as a key point of contact for clients on financial reporting and loan servicing, ensuring client compliance with financial covenants and reporting requirements. You will serve as a quality assurance function, performing four-eye checks on business line reports and data. As core member of Community Reinvestment Act exam team, you will help organize and prepare regulatory files and compile information for external regulators, and coordinate logistics for site and client visits.
  • Administrative and Operational Support: You will provide administrative and operational support to the team, which includes responding to basic client requests, organizing and sending documents, legal billing, processing invoices, and support on presentations and communications. You will lead events planning and coordination for CDFG-hosted events, and provide calendar/scheduling support for the team. You will support the remediation and continual improvement of business-owned processes and controls

Skills You'll Need

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, public policy, history, or relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience excelling in a corporate or equivalent setting
  • Detail-oriented with a proficiency in Excel, Word, MS Teams, and a knack for learning new systems/applications
  • Relevant experience in an operations, administrative, or analysis role within financial services, real estate, community development, or relevant sectors
  • An interest in community development and impact investing

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • A self-starter, self-motivated mind-set, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple deliverables and stakeholders
  • Administrative or service experience working with multiple stakeholders in a corporate setting; proficiency in financial analysis, including an understanding of accounting principles
  • Curiosity and knowledge of the NYC community development sector, with experience in public and nonprofit sectors as a plus
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills with clear and proactive verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team and foster collaboration
  • Ability to work independently, managing a variety of projects, deadlines, and priorities across multiple stakeholders; ability to follow-through and execute on deliverables

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $78K to $139K. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
