DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will work closely with different business sectors and partners to manage the inventory of Highway and related materials effectively, ensuring it meets operational needs. Your role will involve overseeing specific material inventory programs and systems, as well as developing and recommending practices to improve inventory management for better decision-making. This includes creating policies and procedures to enhance inventory controls. You will also prepare comprehensive reports on material usage, purchasing activities, and costs, while analyzing data to produce trend reports on inventory status. Additionally, you will maintain master data in our databases, including SAP Plant Maintenance, review inventory levels and usage, and suggest ways to optimize inventory quantities, promoting just-in-time delivery to avoid costs and improve budget efficiency.

You will be instrumental in planning, developing, and implementing the Statewide Maintenance Accreditation Performance Index and the Inventory Control Metric. Your responsibilities may include generating monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for field organizations, such as Assistant District Executives for Maintenance, to assess their progress in meeting Inventory Control goals. Moreover, you will help create statewide reports that offer analytical tools and insights to aid managerial decisions. A vital part of your role will be to review inventory reports to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • This position is located in the Keystone Building or nearest PennDOT Engineering District Office, if space is available
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Management Analyst 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience in technical management analysis work, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
