Technology Protection Systems Engineer

LOCATION: Huntsville, AL

JOB STATUS: Full-time

CLEARANCE: Secret

TRAVEL: As Needed

Join Astrion in Huntsville and play a critical role in protecting our nation's airspace by designing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge network and communication systems for Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS). We are seeking a high-impact Senior-level Program Integrator with a proven track record in integration and fielding of advanced defense systems. In this role, you will drive the design, evaluation, and integration of CUAS platforms with an emphasis on working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, program managers, technical experts, and foreign military stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery and operational effectiveness of C-UAS systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace, or a related technical field (Master's preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience integrating complex defense technologies, ideally in the C-UAS, electronic warfare, or ISR domains
  • Strong working knowledge of the DoD acquisition lifecycle and JCIDS processes
  • Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and acquisition authorities
  • Familiarity with radar systems, RF signal propagation, data links, and command/control architectures
  • DAWIA or PMP certification highly desirable
  • Exceptional analytical, leadership, and communication skills in mission-critical environments
  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance (Active Secret preferred)
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead program integration across engineering, operations, acquisition, and testing communities
  • Drive strategic planning, risk analysis, and capability delivery within cross-functional teams
  • Oversee the lifecycle integration of C-UAS technologies including sensors, command-and-control, and effectors
  • Develop and manage integration roadmaps, technical reviews, program milestones with executive stakeholders
  • Apply engineering principles to system design, testing, and field deployment across varied mission environments
  • Author and review technical documentation, system specs, and configuration control records
  • Oversee field-testing and evaluation phases in coordination with test engineers and end users
  • Support acquisition documentation from a technical perspective (e.g., SOWs, system requirements, TEMPs)
