Build a Safety Career That Travels Nationwide and Makes a Real Impact

Are you ready to launch or grow a career where your work directly protects people every day?
As a Safety Technician on our National Traveling Construction Team, you'll support large-scale industrial construction projects across the United States. This is a hands-on, high-growth role designed for someone who wants to build a long-term career in safety-not just hold a job.
You'll partner with experienced Safety Managers, gain field exposure on complex projects, and help foster a culture where every team member goes home safe.

What You'll Do

  • Support behavioral-based safety initiatives on active construction sites
  • Conduct job-site safety audits and help correct potential hazards
  • Assist with accident, injury, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis
  • Monitor weekly safety inspections and maintain documentation
  • Coordinate and assist with safety training (including First Aid support as needed)
  • Participate in project start-ups and plant shutdowns
  • Ensure required safety equipment and supplies are available on-site
  • Attend and contribute to foreman and team safety meetings
  • Build strong working relationships with crews, project leaders, and customers
  • Help strengthen and model the Interstates safety culture

Travel Expectations

  • This role requires 100% travel within the United States.
  • Projects may require travel for extended periods of time, depending on scope and schedule.
  • Opportunity to experience projects across multiple industries
  • This position is ideal for someone who enjoys travel, variety, and field-based work.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

Operate independently and lead by example.

Perform duties with minimal supervision, proactively identify and resolve issues, confidently handle client interactions, and complete investigation and root cause documentation as needed.

Maintain strong daily field engagement.

Participate in pre-job planning, rotate through crews weekly, attend whiteboard meetings, interact daily with foremen, and consistently document and report findings to site leadership.

Own site training and compliance systems.

Manage site training tracking and reporting, send reminders and escalate overdue training, conduct safety audits, and maintain accurate documentation.

Take ownership of injury management.

Support injury management efforts, assist with first aid as needed, guide next steps, and ensure all accident and incident documentation is completed accurately.

Support crews with a service-focused approach.

Spend the majority of time in the field supporting crews, proactively address hazards, coach employees, build strong relationships with clients and field teams, and approach safety as a support function-not enforcement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field
  • OR OSHA 510 certification
  • OR equivalent combination of education and field experience
  • Willingness to travel nationwide
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
