Job Summary:
The Senior Research Associate in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine's Pulmonary/Critical Care/SleepMed department provides comprehensive senior-level coordination of the research activities. Responsibilities include providing complex technical assistance to principal investigators in support of various research activities; autonomously managing the day-to-day research activities, such as: implementing research studies per the study protocol, and performing data collection; serving as an authoritative source on research practices, precedents, theory, and principles; ensuring all projects are completed in a timely fashion; acting as a liaison with study sponsors, coordinating project requirements; adhering to all policies, procedures, and professional standards within the division/sub-unit; identifying and analyzing complex problems requiring in-depth technical knowledge and experience in a specific area or discipline; selecting an appropriate course of action that requires independent judgment Participates in implementing changes and innovations to existing procedures as needed. In addition, the Senior Research Associate makes complex decisions within broad guidelines; establishes solid relationships with internal and external contacts in order to continue long term relationships with study vendors; acts as a communication conduit on matters of operational and strategic importance; and occasionally make formal presentations to customer groups; establishes priorities, provides training and feedback, and ensures proper planning of all projects and that they are completed promptly. Performs other related duties as assigned. Maintain site personnel training documentation, source documentation, and case report form completion Manage and track the receipt and return of study related equipment and supplies. Monitor and document investigational product administration, compliance, and reconciliation. Manage and document laboratory sample storage and shipment. Monitor trial by reviewing and reporting on the following: site enrollment and termination updates, monitoring visits, protocol deviations/exceptions, serious adverse events, and laboratory abnormalities. Review source data and case report forms for accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the data, and identify and resolve ongoing data issues. Review data queries and listings and work with study sponsors to resolve data discrepancies. Collaborate with regulatory team to provide study information. Maintain complete and accurate study files and review files to ensure all appropriate documentation is present. Maintain consistent and timely contact with the study sponsors, investigators, study participants and management team. Serve as a resource for project team members.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in life science, health professions or related field and at least four years of directly related research experience working with human subjects. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Ability to travel, including by air or by car to attend study training meetings as required by study project
*Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office Suite software programs.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Patient facing experience
*Ability to work independently and in a team environment
*Ability to travel to off-site locations that may not be accessible via public transportation
*Ability to work evenings/weekends hours as needed

Preferred:
*Familiarity with the medical and pharmaceutical industries, and related terminology and practices
*Knowledge of FDA regulations and their practical implementation
*CPR
*IATA training
*Human Subjects training
*Research Certification
