Position Summary:
The
Leir Institute at NJIT seeks a part-time Research Associate to support the
Director in advancing the Institute's research mission. The position involves
contributing to strategic research initiatives, assisting in grant development
and management, and supporting the operational needs of a dynamic research
center focused on Business, Technology, and Society.

Essential Functions:
-Assist the Director in designing and executing the Institute's research agenda.
-Lead or contribute to the development of grant proposals, including identifying funding opportunities, writing narratives, and preparing supporting documentation.
-Support project management of funded research, including budgeting, progress tracking, and report preparation.
-Conduct literature reviews, data analysis, and policy research relevant to the Institute's focus areas.
-Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners on interdisciplinary research initiatives.
-Prepare research summaries, policy briefs, and scholarly publications under the guidance of the Director.
-Represent the Institute at academic or professional events, when appropriate.
-Contribute to organizing seminars, workshops, and events hosted by the Institute.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Ph.D. in a relevant field.
-Demonstrated research and writing experience, including peer-reviewed publications or funded grant proposals.
-Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced academic environment.
-Prior experience in a university research center is preferred.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate for this position is $16.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
