PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Foam Finance Leader leads the finance function and is a key member of the Foam business' leadership team. This is done in collaboration with Commercial and Operations leaders to maximize the value and drive the growth of the business. The position provides functional leadership for all aspects of finance including objective business insights, external financial perspective, asset management, timely financial analysis, and effective control infrastructure.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving the financial performance of the business segment
- Leads actions in line with achieving targets, mitigating risk and prioritizing resource needs
- Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement, and corrective actions to ensure financial results and shareholder value are optimized
- Collaborates with the Commercial sales leaders to provide decision support through financial modeling, business case analysis and financial/management reporting
- Assists in contract evaluation and negotiation, evaluates financial implications of specific business decisions/opportunities and advises management accordingly to ensure targeted financial performance achievement
- Supports supply chain leadership in relationship with vendors/customers and systematically addresses issues
- Provides predictable business projections via sales/operations planning and financial forecasting
Strategic planning, operations planning and forecasting
- Directs the development of the long-term strategic and annual operations plans, and ensures appropriate actions are in place for effective execution
- Leads financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Reporting & Analysis
- Provides objective insights, timely reporting, effective analysis, and overall finance support to ensure productive management reviews, financially based decisions. and proactive response to market conditions
- Translates the strategic and operational plans of the business into communications to a broad-based audience including the Group President and leadership team, Executive Committee, Operating Committee, Board of Directors, and external investors.
- Manages P&Ls and working capital and effectively communicates results to leadership
- Identifies risks and ensures accountable action plans are in place to mitigate them
- Communicates results effectively to management and non-financial personnel
- Provides in-depth analysis on variances to plan and forecast
Cross-functional leadership and team contribution
- Works across organizational boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant, division, or corporate objectives
- Shares best practices across business divisions, i.e., process improvements, financial modeling, and procedure changes
- Aligns teams and resources to solve problems and drive results
- Provides support to team members at plant, segment, and corporate level
- Collaborates with other business segments to form a total Insulation and OC perspective
Leading & Developing Talent
- Creates an environment where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation systems and utilization of people
- Grows and develops direct reports and/or other talent both inside and outside of finance
- Develops effective succession plans
Financial & Operational Controls
- Ensures there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including: data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.)
JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or relevant discipline. MBA, CMA, CPA preferred.
- History of driving continuous improvement
- Experience developing strategic plans and financial planning & forecasting
- Record of attracting/developing talent and creating effective succession plans
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Operating in a range of economic conditions, i.e. expansion, contraction, stable economic conditions
- Leveraging forecasting, scenario planning, risk analysis and contingency development to drive business performance
- Negotiating, developing, and evaluating customer and supplier contracts
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong financial and analytical acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance and manufacturing costing principles; understands P&L and balance sheet dynamics
- Demonstrated ability to teach and communicate in simple, impactful terms
- Demonstrated ability to manage and control costs; effectively develops business cases and enrolls leaders at all levels in taking appropriate action
- Develops an intimate knowledge of customers, competition, and the market and uses this knowledge to drive customer and product profitability decisions
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute strategic directions
- Effective listening skills, with flexibility in approach to solutions
- Makes decisions and commits to a course of action with appropriate information and recognizes uncertainty of success; weighs and manages risk in decision making; able to make trade-off decisions that are best for OC
