The Content Manager leads a team of writers and leads the strategic development and execution of brand-aligned content across all marketing channels, blending high-level creative direction with hands-on content strategy and team management. This role ensures a unified brand voice and storytelling excellence across social media, web, email, print, and video. Responsibilities include overseeing complex content initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and managing and mentoring writers to foster creativity and accountability. The position advises on workflows, ensures brand standard adherence, and uses performance data to inform strategy. Drives innovation in messaging and storytelling while serving as a subject matter expert on writing best practices and emerging trends.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages a team of writers, providing leadership, coaching, inspiration and performance feedback; Leads recruitment efforts to bring in highly skilled top talent to the team.
- Provides directional oversight and prioritization of the team's work and assumes overall accountability.
- Collaborates with senior leaders to align content efforts with broader marketing and business strategies.
- Leads the development and execution of integrated comprehensive content strategies aligned with business goals.
- Oversees complex, high-impact content initiatives across a range of channels, styles and audiences.
- Manages multiple simultaneous initiatives, including continued contribution to individual daily writing and production projects.
- Leads content development including brainstorming and ideation sessions to drive storytelling innovation.
- Evaluates content effectiveness using data and insights to refine strategy.
- Maintains a comprehensive understanding of company strategy and brand goals.
- Stays informed on industry trends and emerging content formats.
- Presents work confidently to internal stakeholders at all levels; Clearly articulates ideas, shares research findings and explains thought process to team members, leadership and clients - both in writing and in person.
- Partners with strategists, creative teams, production teams and vendors to ensure flawless execution of the strategic and creative vision.
- Leads project teams to conceptualize, manage, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Maintains and enforces brand guidelines across all touchpoints; Maintains and enforces editorial standards to ensure consistency in voice, tone, and style.
- Manages content production workflows for efficiency and alignment with timelines and budgets; Educates and facilitates new processes and workflows across the content team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degrees
- Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, communications, English, journalism or related field required
- Experience
- Seven (7) years of experience in a related field required. Experience in agency or corporate marketing environment preferred. Two (2) years of people leadership experience preferred
- Equivalency
- Professional experience, beyond requirements, in a related field may substitute for a Bachelor degree requirement on year for year basis.
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $94,871.97 to $142,307.96
