Job Summary

Lead our central QC / Product Development laboratory plus remote oversight of Southeastern Emulsion / Asphalt facilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Perform and supervise personnel and laboratory testing procedures in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO testing standards.
  • Report and coordinate test results obtained.
  • Communicate tests results to the relevant parties.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and standardized according to schedule.
  • Oversee and maintain an adequate inventory of small equipment, chemicals, and other supplies needed in the laboratory.
  • Oversee maintenance on test equipment.
  • Keep current on all safety training and follow safe work practices diligently.
  • Travel to our remote facilities in Georgia and South Carolina (1 week a month minimum).
  • Attend industry meetings as and when required.
Knowledge And Skills
  • Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees, production personnel and Government Agencies.
  • Frequently need to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with arms and hands.
  • Required to sit, stoop, kneel, or couch.
  • Employee must safely move and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
Education
  • Minimum of an associate's degree and minimum 8 years' laboratory experience, preferably in the asphalt industry.
  • Experience in Aashto test methods and testing of asphalt and emulsion products.
