M1 is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic II Avionics Phase
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Conducts daily aircraft Phase operations and flightline fuel system discrepancies as required.
Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Repairs, replaces, and
rebuilds aircraft avionics systems, such as LRU Component removal and installation. Extensive
knowledge of all associated avionics systems support equipment. Reads and interprets
manufacturers and aircraft's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering
data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing
malfunctioning or damaged components. Performs periodic and other hourly or calendar
inspections as required. Receives technical guidance from managers, supervisors, leads, and
higher-level technicians as required. Required to adjust, replace and repair worn or damaged
avionics and electrical components, test equipment and aircraft accessories. May be required to
obtain and maintain special certifications required by AFI as directed by management. Reviews
and completes forms documentation pertinent to aircraft or equipment maintenance, enters
maintenance actions into applicable MIS system and will make entries in forms, logs, records, or
electronic equivalent as required. May be required to monitor and lead teams to perform more
complex aircraft inspections and repairs. May be required to write/initiate engineering technical
assistance requests. May be required to pass a color vision test. Complete all assignments and
tasks as directed by managers, supervisors, leads, and more senior technicians.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 6 years performing as an Avionics technician on USAF or sister service
fighter aircraft including 2 years' experience with one or more of the following: A-10, F-15, or F-
16. Working knowledge of MIS systems, forms documentation and strict adherence to aircraft
technical data is required.
Working Conditions:
High school diploma or GED is required. Mathematics skills are desirable
Must speak, read, write, and understand English with the ability to interpret technical data and
special operating instructions in the same language.
Must be willing to deploy to support off-station requirements.
Performs housekeeping duties within 100 feet of assigned work areas (excluding bathrooms).
Performs vehicle use inspections, cleaning, and wash.
Performs any other supportive duties as assigned.
Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (or higher, if required).
Must be able to, if required, obtain, and maintain a government driver's license. If controlled
movement area (CMA) access is required must be able to pass color vision test.
Environment ranges from office, hangar and flightline and requires extensive climbing, standing,
stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
May be required to work in other work sections throughout the contract.
