Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to One Energy Plaza located in Jackson, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the evolution of technology and its impact on daily business operations, while managing multiple complex projects that influence staff performance and product quality. This role supervises lower-level project managers and project team members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results through effective personnel management, project scheduling, budgeting, and resource optimization. The Senior Project Manager partners with cross-functional teams to leverage project management tools, innovative technologies, and the latest software and hardware to enhance productivity. Regular progress updates are prepared and presented to appropriate management channels to ensure alignment with project goals and successful execution of innovation strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess project feasibility by evaluating alignment with organizational strategies and conducting cost-benefit, technology, and systems integration analyses
  • Oversee project coordination and implementation to ensure smooth transitions for staff between projects and processes
  • Develop and implement project plans; serve as the lead contact for internal and external stakeholders to meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams, developers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project completion and ongoing maintenance
  • Conduct quality assurance testing to ensure deliverables meet or exceed expectations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, providing timely updates on status, changes, and risks
  • Manage project scope, quality, timelines, and budget; maintain documentation and communication records
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Continued

  • Direct and coordinate contract resources related to property rights acquisition and landowner relations during construction
  • Develop and track acquisition strategies and execution plans to meet project delivery goals, including risk mitigation and issue resolution
  • Manage real estate-related expenditures by providing budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis
  • Interpret easements, survey drawings, construction plans, titles, and abstracts
  • Review and interpret existing property rights and legal documents; coordinate with internal legal teams and external counsel
  • Align and collaborate with external client groups and internal departments such as Project Management, Engineering, Design, Planning, Forestry, Construction, and Community Affairs

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodology and lean software development principles
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate alternative solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to establish program goals and objectives that support strategic initiatives

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, business, or related field with four (4) or more years of relevant experience

    • [OR] Associate's degree in information technology, information systems, business, or related field with six (6) or more years of relevant experience
    • [OR] High School Diploma/GED with eight (8) or more years of relevant experience
