POSITION SCOPE

The Purchasing/Operations Administration Assistant will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and pricing materials, equipment, and services necessary for production operations, while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Position includes assisting operations administration with daily responsibilities. This position is hourly and reports directly to the Operations Manager.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Source and evaluate vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Issue purchase orders and manage procurement documentation.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support schedules and deadlines.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
  • Accounts payable and invoice processing.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure material needs are met.
  • Research and recommend cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials or suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Track and report purchasing metrics including cost savings, lead times, and supplier reliability.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, open/close projects, and data entry in ECMS (software system)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS



  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement role.
  • Preferred knowledge of construction and aggregate equipment.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices, supply chain management, inventory control.
  • Accounts payable
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrate awareness, engagement, and accountability for work results.
