Ever-Green Energy is looking for a team member responsible for the critical operating activities of water treatment, equipment lubrication, issue response/troubleshooting, and repair and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. Perform the duties of a Lead Engineer, Shift Engineer or Fuel Engineer on a relief basis, or when assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Perform the duties of a Lead Engineer, Shift Engineer, or Fuel Engineer when assigned to that position. 2. Responsible for all water treatment activities (monitoring, testing, logging and adjusting) while on duty. 3. Responsible for operation of the cooling system and for dispatch of and checkout of off-site production facilities at the direction of the Lead Engineer or supervisor. 4. Must be willing to work rotating 12 hour shifts and mandatory overtime as required 5. Have basic electronic computer knowledge to operate boiler plant equipment, as well as outlook, Excel or Word. 6. Perform housekeeping as specified in the facility Housekeeping Plan or assigned by supervisor or Lead Engineer. 7. Perform lubrication where required and on schedule specified by the Facility Lubrication Program. 8. During emergencies or absences may be assigned to the operating crew to perform such tasks as may be assigned by the Lead Engineer / Operations Supervisor. 9. Perform maintenance and repair of any and all equipment and facilities as directed and perform minor maintenance walk-throughs for the purpose of repairing minor maintenance items. Document items found but not repaired on a Work Order. 10. Perform other duties as assigned. 11. Perform all obligations and above functions in a safe and efficient manner. The employee is frequently required to climb ramps/stairs; climb ladders/ropes/scaffolding; crawling; crouching; clarity of vision at 20 feet or more; fine manipulation by picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in gross manipulation; gross manipulation by seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands; foot/leg controls; clarify of vision at approximately 20 inches or less; peripheral vision by observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point; pushing; pulling; and standing/walking. The employee is occasionally required to the use of respirator; kneeling; lifting up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs.; reaching at/below shoulder level by extending hand and arms from 0 up to 150 degrees in a vertical arc; reaching overhead by extending hands and arms in a 150 to 180 degrees vertical arc; stooping, and confined space with limited entry or exit. Must be capable of maneuvering throughout industrial facilities such as energy plans and building HVAC mechanical rooms, etc. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position involves working in a steam, hot water, and/or chilled water plant and/or its distribution system. While performing job duties, employees may occasionally encounter potential hazards, including fumes, airborne particles, high-pressure steam in piping or equipment, both hot and cold temperatures, and hazards associated with moving machinery. The work environment's noise level typically ranges from moderate to loud. Other potential hazards common to heating and cooling plants may include confined spaces, slippery surfaces, rotating equipment, chemical handling (e.g., water treatment chemicals), and burns. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided and physical controls are in place as needed to mitigate these risks. This is a union position with an hourly pay at $59.45.
