• Salary range 005: $81,400 - $101,800 (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position).

What's involved in this role:

We are looking for a Senior Applied Scientist in Le Sueur, MN.

• Project manager of research and development projects for ingredient development and process optimization.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Operations, Technical Services, Engineering, etc., to ensure success of new commercial processes and optimization of current processes.
• Independently responsible for designing and executing a series of experiments to test hypotheses related to project outcomes.
• Leverage scientific knowledge and problem-solving abilities to support research and commercial efforts.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to test products during the commercialization process.
• Write project charters, experimental designs, complete data analysis and write final project reports to facilitate excellence in communication.
• Record, collate, evaluate, and interpret experimental data to make appropriate recommendations and documentation.
• Mentor others in design of experiments, process troubleshooting and communication to operations.
• Identify technical alternatives from literature review.
• Prepare presentations and training tools for management and company communication.
• Provide key documentation and overall technical expertise to support the transition of new products to full commercial scale.

What you need to join our team:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry or Engineering or related field required.

• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

• Minimum four (4) years of experience in a laboratory or dairy plant environment required.
