DET - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Michigan)

A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Lab Tech, R&D assists the research and development department in developing new products and processes and perform tests on raw material and coating for quality control and product release.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Discuss testing results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions.

  • Test, or measure materials, products, installations and work for conformance to specifications.

  • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.

  • Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.

  • Mark items with details such as lot traceability and acceptance or rejection status.

  • Record test data, such as weights, temperatures, equipment IDs, test results and quantities tested.

  • Advocates for the health and safety of self, co-workers, customers, and the community.

  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).

  • Completes all required training.

  • Perform microstructure easements of coatings per ASTM standard and collect appropriate data for technical reports.

  • Perform powder qualification for new powder lots of titanium and hydroxyapatite.

  • Records results of tests and report any unusual results or problems to R&D Engineer and Quality Department.

  • Maintains equipment in clean and safe working condition.

  • Use Made2Manage to create quotes for R&D and receive raw material.

  • Performs tests of coatings for quality control according to the customer requirements, ASTM standards, company safety and occupational health procedures.

  • Ensure that preventive maintenance is performed correctly on test equipment.

  • May interface with customers, working on new products, and focusing on continuous improvement.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Or Equivalent (Required)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in metallurgical testing, evaluation, and documentation (Preferred)

  • Experience Working in a Sterile Laboratory or Manufacturing Environment (Preferred)

  • 1+ Year of Prior Relevant Experience (Preferred)
