Lubbock Cadet 41916BR Texas Tech Police Department Position Description Must be accepted to the Basic Peace Officer Training Academy which includes instruction and training mandated by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. A cadet must attend scheduled classes and actively participate in programs of instruction. Duties involve timely completion of assignments, participating in classroom projects and discussions, and receive hands on training in various skills needed by entry level police officers. The Cadet is expected to make passing grades during the program and upon successful completion of the academy, obtain a Basic Peace Officer license from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Preferred Qualifications Be 21 years of age by the time you complete and pass the South Plains College Law Enforcement Academy and pass the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement's state exam.
