YOU As an Chemical Lab Technician, you will be responsible for incoming material inspections and testing as well as materials produced in-house. This position will challenge you to work as a team to set, achieve, and maintain goals including daily inspection times. You will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated and knowledgeable group of people who support and lead quality improvement efforts to ensure that our products have No Equal in our industry). This position is scheduled for Monday through Friday - 6am - 2:30pm with overtime as needed. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time) Conduct chemical testing and control processes for pretreatment and E-Coat systems. Perform titrations (acid/base, oxidation-reduction), pH checks, conductivity, and other solution control tests per standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure chemical baths are within control limits. Maintain log sheets and testing records. (40%) Inspect incoming materials and parts to ensure vendor quality. Report inspection findings using software programs. Create, revise, or update various spreadsheets and/or electronic records, etc. used to collect information in the lab. (30%) Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes, first piece and final output. Communicate and assist Engineers in resolving non-conformances. (15%) Participate in various improvements projects related to process chemistry, product quality and lab efficiency. (10%) Report non-conformances using PIO system and follow through to execution of disposition. (5%) DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment and needs to constantly position self to maintain the operation of equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment. WORK ENVIRONMENT Regularly work around moving mechanical parts. The noise level is loud. The job may risk exposure to dust, heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions. TRAVEL REQUIRED No travel is required. This position will require travel to an alternate facility for training prior to startup. WORK STATUS & LOCATION This full-time, non-exempt position is in Gallatin, TN. RELOCATION Relocation is not available for this position.
