Opposing Forces (OPFOR EOS) Role Player (Part-time)
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ
USAF Expeditionary Operations School (EOS) Fieldcraft Training Job Duties:
- Participate in weapons handling and operation training when required: Rifle, Pistol, Blanks and Dye-Marking Cartridges
- OPFOR Role players must understand how to engage students at the appropriate level of intensity and then adjust responses based on the performance of the student.
- Role players must understand the intent, mechanics, and flow of each exercise.
- Perform OPFOR duties in a hostile environment with limited infrastructure (including running water, power, HVAC etc.).
- Perform in urban/mounted operations training and may be shot at using blank-firing weapons or dye-marking cartridges (SIM-FX, Ultimate Training Munition/UTM, or paintball).
- Role players may be required to "die in place" or to be captured after a simulated firefight.
- Integrate into military scenarios using weapons, equipment, and various vehicles in a multitude of situations such as hostile forces, ambushes, sniper, friendly forces, police, host nation civilian, terrorist, etc.
- Ensure all weapons are properly cleaned and maintained to the USAF EOS armory standards and returned upon completion of duty.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be of general good health to participate in these exercises.
- Able to speak, read and write English. A second language is a plus.
- Have prior experience with the use, maintenance, and operations of military assault rifles and small arms.
- Have the capability to possess a firearm(s) pursuant to Title 18 U.S.C. 922 and shall submit a DD Form 2760 prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Have a clean background check. There will be no indicators in the background check that would preclude applicants from handling weapons, ammunition, or pyrotechnics, or would otherwise in good faith represent a risk to U.S. Military personnel. OPFOR personnel must notify the Site Manager of any incidents that impact their suitability to possess firearms.

Travel Required: None Working Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the role player is regularly required to speak, listen, and write. Frequent physical activities include the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, as well as foot and ankle movements. The role player is also required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. reaching above shoulder; use of fingers; walking (4 hours); standing (8 hours); running (1 hour); crawling (30 minutes); kneeling (30 minutes); repeated bending (1hour). Able to function in the following environmental factors: outside and inside; excessive heat; excessive cold; excessive humidity; excessive dampness or chilling. Good vision perception. The typical noise level in the work environment is moderate.
