USAF Expeditionary Operations School (EOS) Fieldcraft Training Summary:
The Combat Skills Instructor is responsible for delivering comprehensive training to military personnel, ensuring they are fully prepared for deployment in dynamic and potentially hostile environments. This role requires proven expertise in explosives handling, small arms proficiency, and instructional excellence. The instructor will play a vital role in equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to operate and survive effectively in combat zones. Job Duties:
- Safely transport and use explosive training devices and similar equipment in compliance with safety protocols, both within the installation and during training exercises in designated areas.
- Attend and complete training classes provided by the USAF EOS, including the Academic Instructors Course, and receive certification for explosive device use and movement.
- Transport students to and from training areas, ensuring their safety and readiness for training exercises.
- Act as Range Safety Officer (RSO) by receiving a Ft. Dix range card and performing associated duties in accordance with Ft. Dix Pamphlet (PAM) 350-3.
- Instruct and assess students on complex combat problems in the field, following established lesson plans and conveying critical experience and key points.
- Maintain accurate records of instructional hours and comply with Community College of the Air Force accreditation policies, including evaluations and continuing education requirements.
- Undergo initial training within 60 days of hire, which includes the Academic Instructors Course, Ft. Dix range control class, pyrotechnic training, and other relevant components.
- Conduct instruction, demonstrations, and student evaluations in accordance with syllabi and Plans of Instruction (POI).
- Prepare the classroom for instruction, ensuring all academic equipment is functional and ready for use.
- Provide technical support, planning, consultation, analysis, and expert advice to improve instructional quality in the respective area.
- Handle logistical functions related to instruction, including transportation of materials, setup of training ranges, and monitoring of student gear.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in any field of study, or within 12 months of completion, with the ability to apply for an academic extension to complete the degree while holding instructor status.
- Prior military deployed experience in uncertain or hostile environments or relevant experience in skills required to operate and survive in multiple environments.
- Physical and mental capacity to instruct, qualify on, and maintain currency in Air Force small arms qualification courses.
- Valid state driver's license and the capability to operate a variety of government-furnished vehicles, with training provided as needed.
- Physical capability to meet the demands of field instruction, including lifting up to 50lbs unassisted and maneuvering in various terrain and weather conditions.

Frequent physical activities include the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, as well as foot and ankle movements. The instructor is also required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The typical noise level in the work environment is moderate.
