Role Summary:
The Counsel will assist the Chief Legal Officer on all legal affairs and have primary responsibility to ensure adherence to league and regulatory standards and manage compliance programs within the club. This role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, providing legal counsel to various departments, adopting best practice corporate governance and implementing policies to mitigate legal and financial risks. It will interact with all departments.
Key Responsibilities -
Assist and Support Chief Legal Officer With:
Maintain Primary Responsibility
for
Regulatory & League Compliance: Ensure the Club's operations comply with league regulations and relevant laws, including player transactions (and Transfer Management System operation), Collective Bargaining Agreement, Sporting Competition rules, licenses and certifications, training requirements, Academy rules, commercial guidelines and more, in close collaboration with Sporting and other departments. Coordinate regularly and closely with Chief Financial Officer on Roster & Budget Guidelines. Engage with league and other club Legal peers to share best practices.
