Job Title: EHS Coordinator

Department/Group: Environmental Health and Safety

Location: Philadelphia, PA (Red Lion Road)

Shift: 2nd, 4pm - midnight

Reports to: General Manager

This position will support the Philadelphia site, specifically within the EHS department, in ensuring compliance with governmental regulations as well as PCI's EHS programs, policies, and procedures. The role will also play a key part in continuous improvement efforts, including-but not limited to-employee engagement initiatives, data analysis, and the development and sustainability of EHS best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in completing regular inspections and audits of Philadelphia facilities to ensure compliance with PCI EHS programs and governmental regulations.
  • Assist in facilitating EHS committee meetings and ensure meetings are appropriately documented.
  • Assist EHS specialist on collected and tracked EHS data to identify trends, ensure actions are being adequately completed, and information is being shared with EHS committees and Management to develop corrective action plans.
  • Collect and enter data into PCI's Smartsheet. Maintain Smartsheet data and follow up with CAPA's.
  • Assist in management of workers compensation claims. Assist in the completion and/or review of incident investigations to help coach and provide guidance to Supervisors in completion of effective incident investigations, establishment of corrective actions, and communication of the results of the investigation.
  • Ensure EHS information is adequately shared with employees and kept up to date.
  • Assist in the review, updating, and development of EHS related programs, training, policies and procedures.
  • Assist in ergonomic assessments as part of the Ergonomic assessment team following PCI's Ergonomics program.
  • Participate in and assist the Medical Emergency Response Team meetings and activities.
  • Assist in collection of air and noise samples under direction of the site leadership.
  • Assist in maintaining and tracking data needed for the OSHA logs. Maintain confidentiality of all health-related issues of our employees and families as stated in HIPPA and other confidentiality regulations.
  • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work. Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI and cGMP policies and procedures.
  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

Work Environment:

The following are some environmental conditions that one may be exposed to on a daily basis and for various lengths of time.

  • Work is primarily performed at a desk and/or in an office environment. for 1/4 to 1/2 of the day.
  • Work is performed in areas with moderate risk or discomfort that may require special safety precautions, such as wearing protective clothing or gear for up to 1/4 of the day.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts for up to 1/4 of the day.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically, moderate.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the stated position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Associate degree or enrolled in an associates or higher program
  • Basic Mathematical Skills
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.
  • Minimum Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak in a way that allows one to participate effectively in various conversations. Ability to read various types of standard items addressed to general readers.
  • High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.
  • High Standard of Report Writing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams

Preferred:

  • Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Ability to display original thinking and creativity.
  • Experience in EHS and claims management a plus.
  • Degree in or working towards a degree in EHS a plus.
  • Course work or certifications in EHS a plus
  • Experience in manufacturing a plus
