JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization is seeking an Administrative Operation Systems intern to work approximately 15 hours per week helping to support key administrative tasks, entrepreneurship programs, and events affiliated with the Invent Penn State initiative.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities may include:

  • Welcome and guide all incoming students, faculty, staff, and visitors with a courteous demeanor.
  • Effectively address inquiries related to the EJB Innovation Hub, providing clear and helpful information.
  • Resolve routine customer service matters and direct complex issues to the appropriate OEC staff.
  • Perform various clerical tasks such as answering the phone, handling mail and deliveries, photocopying, and scanning documents.
  • Assist in managing general financial requests, entering them into the OEC financial requests queue.
  • Support event operations, including setup, teardown, and cleanup tasks.
  • Contribute to special projects and events associated with the Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (OEC).
  • Conduct online research and data collection for the annual Princeton Review Survey.
  • Provide assistance to the Administrative Assistants, Event Manager, Invent Penn State Marketing team, Director of Administration, and Happy Valley LaunchBox staff.
  • Update and improve educational materials and assist with education programs offered by the Happy Valley LaunchBox.
  • Participate in outreach events to engage students and community entrepreneurs.

This position requires a highly organized and collaborative self-starter with excellent customer service, communication, and time management skills. The applicant must have a can-do and professional attitude and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Applications will be received on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed weekly.

This paid appointment is for the Fall 2025 session. The position requires full in-person attendance and is based at the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub in downtown State College. The hourly rate for this position is $13.00.
