About The Role:

As a Construction Materials Staff Consultant Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in both technical project execution and team leadership. You'll manage construction materials testing and special inspections across diverse projects while also leading a team within the office, ensuring operational excellence and staff development. This role combines field expertise, project oversight, client engagement, and people management to drive company success. You'll be a key contributor to project success, balancing fieldwork, data analysis, and strategic oversight in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.



  • Lead Project Execution: Manage construction materials testing and special inspections, ensuring technical accuracy, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction across diverse projects.
  • Supervise & Develop Staff: Recruit, train, and mentor field and lab personnel, fostering a collaborative environment that supports individual growth and aligns with office and company goals.
  • Coordinate Field & Lab Operations: Oversee daily field activities, lab testing, and quality control procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Manage Resources & Systems: Utilize tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, BST, and Workday for reporting and managing employee data.
  • Drive Communication & Client Relations: Serve as a liaison between clients, contractors, and internal teams, providing regular updates and resolving field issues.



About You:



  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a similar engineering field or a combination of education and experience in construction materials testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt
  • You have a minimum of 6 years of professional experience
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language



You Are Willing and Able to:

Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:



  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day as needed
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
