Your role

The Planner is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted flow of material and the timely scheduling of jobs for Production Flow Teams with emphasis on meeting the required customer delivery dates. The Planner shall work with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of material and shall work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, and Production to develop inventory control methods to reduce inventory while safeguarding component availability for production. The Planner shall develop the production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and published lead times by scheduling jobs in accordance with available capacity and components

Roles and Responsabilities

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Use BPCS planning tools to plan equipment production activities at the Rock Hill Product Company.
  • Review parts availability in BPCS and ILM including follow-up on daily purchasing requirements, expediting, and past due purchase orders.
  • Provide forecast for specific part requirements to overseas supplier.
  • Provide feedback to the production flow team concerning parts availability and shortages.
  • Follow the Atlas Copco "Safety First" policy to ensure zero work related accidents.
  • Take all necessary actions to employ sustainable processes and safeguard the Groups' targets for Quality/Environment/Safety and Health.
  • Work with logistics to resolve purchase order receipt discrepancies.
  • Create manual invoices to the Customer Center for production parts.
  • Work with sourcing on inventory reduction initiatives.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
To succeed, you will need

Required skills/ Abilities:

  • Understanding of business issues related to entire supply chain. Specific knowledge of raw materials, parts, and manufacturing processes.
  • In depth understanding of MRP & MPS systems. BPCS experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with material procurement in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and statistical skills.
  • Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Individual and team interaction skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through to completion.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access)
  • Proven ability to achieve results.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors' Degree with a minimum of 3 years in Supply Chain or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times (occasionally).
