Position Summary |
The Office of Faculty Affairs (
OFA), a unit within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, provides support for faculty and oversight of faculty-related policies for the institution. The Faculty Policy, Compliance, and Records Lead manages faculty appointment related actions as appropriate in various systems and works collaboratively with Director of Operations & Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs (
APFA) on the day-to-day operations in
OFA as well as policy, procedures, and compliance related matters. Work is performed with considerable independence under the supervision and direction of the Director of Operations.

Faculty Appointments and Records
- Executive Reviewer and Approver in UGAJobs for Faculty Affairs for a subset of faculty appointment related actions (e.g. includes but not limited to faculty hiring proposals, position action requests for routine updates, major administrative appointments, rank change, contract type change, part-time/limited term rank change, etc.).
- Manages and maintains faculty appointment related records and documentation in Content, OneDrive, and other faculty file systems.
- Serves as primary contact for part-time and/or limited term reappointment supporting documents (responsibilities include but are not limited to, courtesy review of part-time letters of agreement and NTT limited-term offer letters as well as updating OneUSG Connect MFE Create tenure data).
- Provides courtesy reviews of non-tenure track offer letters where not promotion credit is being offered.
- Completes OneUSG Connect MFE Updates and/or Verification new faculty appointment related actions.

Policy, Procedures, and Compliance
- Serves as lead for the internal faculty appointment process and procedure instructions (P&P) library for Faculty Affairs, in cooperation with the Director of Operations and APFA.
- Provides knowledge and feedback regarding existing faculty appointment policies, procedures, and guidance.
- As applicable, drafts proposed revisions to policies, procedures, and guidance as well as update applicable internal instructions for further review, discussion, and revision by the Director of Operations and APFA.
- As applicable, drafts communications regarding updates to policy and procedures to applicable audiences (e.g. Faculty Affairs Liasions) in collaboration with the Director of Operations, the Associate Provost, and other OFA Leads.
- Provides ongoing advice to campus unit contacts on application of faculty hiring policies and procedures.
