Description
Location: Position is on-site in Sitka, AK. Local candidates to the Sitka area are encouraged to apply. This project will complete in approximately 2.5 years.
ECC is seeking candidates for a Site Superintendent position for a Design/Build marine construction project to build a new pier and floating dock. Ideal applicants will bring prior exposure to waterfront, pier, or dock construction, and experience working with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) is considered a strong asset. This position is primarily responsible for the implementation of field related policies, programs, and practices that support and advance the Company's long-term business objectives. In this position you will:
  • Coordinate with the Project Engineer, Health and Safety Officer, and Quality Control Officer for interaction of task prioritization
  • Compliance with health and safety and quality control requirements as identified by functional officers
  • Assist and lead field teams in achieving task requirements
  • Key implementers of field activities and tasks preparatory to field activities
  • Assist in identifying and performing general labor tasks to achieve project objectives under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Contribute methods of approach and identify solutions to logistical or operational challenges during general field operations
  • Assist in identifying task-specific equipment to achieve the objectives of a task. When appropriate, operate the equipment as needed during mobilization, sampling, surveying, deconning, and general field operation
  • Assume the role of team lead to assist the quality control officer and health and safety officer in maintaining compliance with project work plans, standard operating procedures, and sound field practices while achieving project objectives
  • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
    Requirements
    • Proven ability to implement programs to address complex needs and problems
    • Ability to coordinate with staff on various task assignments and field activities
    • Knowledge of federal contracting regulations and requirements
    • Expected 15-20 years of relevant construction or engineering experience
    • Travel: Must be able and willing to work on-site at project location
    • Five years supervisory experience leading multi-disciplinary teams with experience managing schedule and budget for large construction projects
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Construction Management or related field required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
        Preferred Qualifications
        • Experience in waterfront, pier, or dock construction is a plus
        • Prior experience with U.S. Coast Guard projects or regulations is a plus
        • Experience with design/build projects is preferred
        ECC targeted salary range for Sitka location for Marine experience is $96,400 to $150,000 annually.Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
