This Position reports to:

Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

The Integrated Production Unit Leader (IPU) ensures efficient and cost-effective production results that meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs, and proper productivity level). The role encompasses planning and fulfillment, assembly, packaging and test for both in-house production and contract manufacturing.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team within a Production unit or line to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. Each day, you will ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies. You will also showcase your expertise by organizing and allocating resources to meet line production targets effectively and efficiently.

The work model for the role is: Onsite, Richmond, Virginia

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Ensuring that production scheduling and production plan meet the volume requirements agreed upon in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels; Driving strong Health and Safety Culture.

  • Recommending technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary; Identifying deficiencies in production area, proposing improvement activities, and overseeing implementation of actions to improve production performance.

  • Managing the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams; Owning material fulfillment activities.

  • Providing support to the Sales team, as required, during customer visits to explain the capabilities of the manufacturing facilities; Collaborating with Operational Excellence teams to integrate lean manufacturing principles into production processes.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or Supply Chain or related field PLUS minimum 8 years experience in manufacturing and production

  • Demonstrated leadership of production teams and fulfillment teams.

  • SAP experience required

  • Manufacturing experience localizing new products

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
