Job Purpose

The Mobile and Web Program Manager will be a transformational leader leading multiple Mobile and Web projects and programs implementing digital-first technology solutions associated with Honda's multiple products and Services. The incumbent will oversee the implementation of initiatives, identifies interdependencies, and drives successful project deliveries.

Specifically, the Program Manager would be responsible for:

  • Lead enterprise-wide digital product strategy, planning, and development in Mobile and Web projects and programs.
  • Responsible for multi-million software and operations budgets.
  • Responsible for successful executive approval and deployment of products and enhancements through all approval phases of project or agile methods.
  • Develop, lead, and deliver innovative and transformative business initiatives benefiting customers, dealers, and associates.
  • Represent and advocate for the IT and Business in strategic planning, product development and solution management working for enterprise-wide alignment among all internal Business Units and corporate strategies.
  • Deliver digital innovations that are highly complex requiring tiered release management, complex organization change management and complex communication plans across Business Units and externally (field, dealers, customers, business partners).
  • This product owner will provide leadership to a complex organization comprised of associates, contingent staff, professional services, and vendor partners in multiple locations (onshore and offshore).
Key Accountabilities
  • Lead, direct and remove impediments for skilled teams of multiple internal and external resources including on-shore and off-shore members.
  • Direct management and execution of responsibility to appropriate Program and Project leads, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, Testers, Scrum Masters, Business Owners, etc.
  • Collaborate with executives and stakeholders and ensure clear definition of strategy, objectives, and implementation goals across Corporate Strategy, IT, and Business.
  • Present project proposals and updates to senior management; communicate all project impediments and collaborate to ensure speedy removal.
  • Create an effective, engaged organization via Development, Coach and Mentoring the team towards excellence in the work and delivery.
  • Active role in recruiting new talent from intern to senior IT professionals.
  • Manage product budget and, when relevant, maintain all external vendor relationships.
Workstyle
  • Onsite at least 4 days per workweek in the Torrance, CA office and 1 fixed remote workday a week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • BA/BS level degree

Key qualifying skills:

  • 10 or more years of management experience in leading technology solution implementation, critical business process improvement effort, and customer experience.
  • Working in fast-paced, dynamic settings and prior experience working with Agilesoftware development teams.
  • The incumbent should have a strong background in successfully delivering complex Mobile and Web projects, deep customer empathy, strong execution capabilities, a data-driven decision-making mindset and a track record of building strong business partnerships and alignment at executive through front line levels.
  • Ability to Lead major complex programs from initiation through implementation, including coordinating the efforts of internal stakeholders, professional services, and business partners
  • Proven ability to synthesize information quickly and efficiently in delivering practical and effective initiatives covering people, processes, tools, and organization
  • Experience with Mobile and web digital business programs
  • Strong IT-centric mindset to deliver seamless experience to our customers
  • Experience creating dashboards, road maps, and other reporting for the executive level.

Other job-specific Skills

  • Proven track record of building solid partner relationships and influencing and negotiating with key stakeholders
  • Ability to understand complex processes and their interrelations across all business partners
  • Change Management experience
