Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Affairs Neurology Trainer to support the training needs of our Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team, with a specialized focus on neurology and migraine. This role is critical to ensuring high-impact, scientifically rigorous engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in scientific content and proven expertise in adult learning to design and deliver strategic, scalable training programs.

Success in this role means equipping MSLs with the confidence, clarity, and credibility to engage in meaningful, compliant scientific exchange that supports our Lundbeck medical strategic priorities.

Essential Functions:



  • Design and deliver targeted scientific training for MSLs, focused on migraine and neurology, using adult learning principles and best practices in instructional design.
  • Lead the development and delivery of onboarding, certification, and ongoing field medical training programs to ensure scientific excellence and consistent field impact.
  • Translate complex scientific data into clear, compliant, and engaging training programs tailored for MSL use in the field.
  • Elevate scientific dialogue skills through programs that strengthen data fluency, communication strategy, and confident navigation of challenging HCP questions.
  • Develop and manage innovative training tools (e.g., simulation, peer learning, scenario-based coaching, gamification) to support retention, real-world application, and knowledge reinforcement.
  • Partner with Medical Strategy, Field Leadership, and Medical Communications to ensure training aligns with scientific strategy and evolving MSL needs.
  • Contribute to the development of training metrics and KPIs that evaluate program effectiveness and impact on field performance.
  • Stay current on the scientific landscape and internal/external data to proactively update training content and keep pace with emerging trends.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, Compliance, and Market Access partners to ensure clear role boundaries and scientific alignment, where appropriate.



Required Education, Experience, and Skills:



  • Advanced degree in a scientific discipline required (PharmD, PhD, MD, APN, or NP equivalent)
  • 3+ years of experience in Medical Affairs training, with a focus on scientific education and field medical support.
  • Proven ability to apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills; able to coach others and deliver content with clarity and engagement.
  • Experience developing certification programs, onboarding curricula, and training materials for MSLs or other field-based medical roles.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.



Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:



  • Strong preference to based in Deerfield, IL office.
  • LTEN (Life Sciences Trainers & Educators Network) certification or coursework.
  • ATD (Association for Talent Development) certification.
  • Coaching or facilitation certifications (e.g., Insights Discovery, DiSC, MBTI, or ICF-accredited coaching).
  • Demonstrated scientific acumen in neurology and/or migraine therapeutic areas preferred.



Travel:



  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 40% domestically. International travel may be required.


The range displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role, may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's geographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $170,000 - $200,000 and eligibility for a 20% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company's long-term incentive plan.
