Non-Clinical Patient Navigator - Oncology
Make a difference in the lives of patients and families navigating their cancer journey. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and resourceful Non-Clinical Patient Navigator to join our oncology team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between patients, their families, physicians, and community resources-ensuring no one faces cancer alone.
Department Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
- Molecular Testing: Facilitate and monitor the medical team's efforts to ensure testing has been performed. Such testing is critical in guiding patients to clinical trial referrals.
- Clinical Trial Navigation, Patient Education & Resource Development: Assist patients in identifying and enrolling in relevant clinical trials, ensuring they don't miss critical opportunities that could significantly impact their treatment plans. Provide information about the benefits and logistics of clinical trials, including personalized treatment options based on genetic and cancer-specific factors.
- Collaboration with Medical Teams: Work closely with the entire GI physician team, including medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, and interventional radiology, to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Resource Development: Create and maintain educational materials and resources that help patients understand their options and the clinical trial process.
- Data Collection: Gather and report on patient enrollment and outcomes, including in clinical trials, to support ongoing research efforts and improve future treatment protocols.
- Department preferred education: Bachelor's degree
- Department preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrate general knowledge and a willingness to gain in-depth knowledge of cancer, treatment modalities and healthcare systems. Ability to be an innovative, creative and critical thinker and have excellent organizational skills. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills with faculty, professional staff, patients and their families and lay audiences with a variety of cultural and social backgrounds. Demonstrate appropriate computer skills, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and the Internet.

Salary Range: Minimum 22.41/hour - Maximum 36.98/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
