We are looking for a SuperintendentOccupational Health & Hygiene to join Rio Tinto Kennecott's Health and Safety team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and manage our Health and Industrial Hygiene programs.

This role ensures compliance with legal and regulatory standards while driving strategic and tactical initiatives to enhance employee health and wellbeing.

Reporting to the Manager, Health, Security & Emergency Services, you will:

  • Lead the development and execution of the Industrial Hygiene strategy across Kennecott facilities.

  • Champion mental and physical health initiatives to support employee wellbeing.

  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of health and hygiene programs.

  • Promote and uphold Rio Tinto's Health, Safety, and Environment standards and policies.

  • Foster a proactive safety culture through exemplary leadership and clear expectations.

  • Integrate safety into operational strategies, policies, and procedures.

  • Drive efficiency and cost discipline to maximize free cash flow.

  • Uphold Rio Tinto's values and maintain high ethical standards.

  • Provide performance updates to the General Manager HSEC, senior leadership, and stakeholders, offering solutions and identifying opportunities.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and legislative requirements, including HSEQ Management Systems.

  • Identify and implement improvements to mitigate health risks across the workforce.

What you'll bring

  • A strong commitment to safety-for yourself and your team.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification.

  • 5+ years of experience in HSE, ideally within mining, construction, or industrial sectors.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic health programs.

  • Excellent communication skills and composure under pressure.

  • Expertise in risk assessment and mitigation planning.

  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
