Job Description - Performance Monitoring Center Data Analyst or Lead Analyst
Position Description Plays a critical role in enhancing the reliability and efficiency of our power plant operations by identifying anomalies in data from normal operations. Interface with our operations teams throughout the organization and will work with PI software, Predict-It software, and PlantView software to analyze and interpret data, providing actionable insights to enhance plant performance and reliability. Provide actionable insights through data analysis. Track key performance indicators to measure success. Document issues identified within the PMC and the associated cost savings. Report and track issues to ensure timely resolution. Position-Related Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze data: Use PI software, Predict-It software, and PlantView software to identify anomalies and trends.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work with maintenance and operations teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Predictive Analytics: Utilize Predict-It software for predictive analytics, leveraging data from PI software.
- Reporting: Generate reports and visualizations to communicate findings and cost savings to stakeholders.
- Data Integrity: Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all analyses.
- Basic Data Analysis: Perform basic data analysis and draw logical conclusions.
- Data Management: Pull, summarize, and validate data in collaboration with operations and maintenance teams.
- Data Queries: Run data system queries, extract data, and sort, update, and merge data from various sources.
- Documentation: Update, maintain, and archive databases, files, reports, and other documentation.
- Data Collection: Work with operations and management to collect and validate data.
PMC Data Analyst:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.) Analyst Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a control room or power plant environment, with extensive knowledge about power plant equipment/operations. Travel for meetings and training as required.
- Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and performance monitoring tools. Excellent communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft software tools, with excellent Excel skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and training in the utility industry
- Knowledge: Understanding of power plant operations and control systems
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both within a team and with others
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Data Science, Business, or Energy Management).
- Knowledge of power plants, solar, wind, battery storage, coal generation, etc.
- Experience utilizing PI software, Predict-It software, and PlantView software.
Lead Analyst Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a control room or power plant environment. Travel for meetings and training as required.
- Skills: Advanced proficiency in data analysis and performance monitoring tools.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of power plant operations including solar, wind, battery storage, coal generation, etc., control systems, and industry standards.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both within a team and with others.
- Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of power plants, solar, wind, battery storage, coal generation, etc.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Data Science, Business, or Energy Management).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing PI software, Predict-It software, and PlantView software.
- Maintenance or Mechanical experience, with good understanding of industry best practices.
