What you'll be doing...
The Supervisor, Network Engineering is responsible for leading a team of network engineers in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the customer's network infrastructure. This role requires a strong technical background in networking, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex projects. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can mentor and develop their team while also contributing to high-level strategic planning. Key Responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership & Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network engineers. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development planning. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment. Oversee project assignments, workloads, and resource allocation. Manage workloads, prioritize and assign work appropriately, and ensure business deliverables are provided on time. Provide support and guidance to the team, helping to resolve any issues that arise relating to network and system implementation. Serve as an escalation point for the team, addressing requests the team may be unable to address, and reaching out to the necessary teams to resolve. Solve problems under pressure, and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Provide guidance to the team in completing their objectives including developing training materials, answering technical requests, and evaluating security requirements, assessing employee performance, holding employees accountable and taking appropriate corrective action. Lead, coach, and develop the team to success and create an engaging environment where employees want to come to work. Act as a role model by listening, demonstrating strong communication skills, work ethic, and leverage sound judgement in the application of policies, procedures, and guidelines. Make recommendations regarding the hiring, firing, advancement, performance, promotion or any other change of status of team members. Assess employee performance, hold employees accountable, take appropriate corrective actions, and train and provide ongoing direction and feedback to team members.
Network Design & Implementation:
Supervise the design, configuration, and deployment of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and wireless access points. Ensure network designs are scalable, secure, and resilient to meet current and future business needs. Oversee the implementation of new network technologies and upgrades.
Operations & Maintenance:
Drive process improvement across the team, allowing the team to perform their work more effectively. Manage the day-to-day operations of the network infrastructure. Ensure network uptime, performance, and security meet established SLAs. Develop and implement network monitoring, alerting, and management tools. Supervise the troubleshooting and resolution of complex network issues.
Security & Compliance:
Strategic Planning & Budgeting:
Contribute to the development of the long-term network strategy. Assist in budget planning for network hardware, software, and services. Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for future investments.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with other IT teams, business units, and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery. Act as a point of escalation for complex network issues. Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience. Four or more years of experience in network engineering. Two or more years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role. Proven experience with enterprise-level network design, implementation, and operations. Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, etc.). Hands-on experience with major network vendors (e.g., Cisco, Aruba, SevOne). Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI). Experience with network automation tools (e.g., SWARM, Ansible, Python scripting). Knowledge of SDN, SDWAN, and other emerging network technologies. Ability to do physical activity as required for equipment installation and maintenance. Ability to commit to occasional travel as needed.

A degree. Professional-level certifications such as CCNP, CCIE. Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
