What you'll be doing...

You will join Verizon Cybersecurity's Cyber Engineering Services organization as a Security Engineer II and will be a critical member of our Development Services team. As a Security Engineer II, you will collaborate with the team through the entire lifecycle of our user interface applications. You'll be instrumental in shaping our products, ensuring we deliver secure, scalable, and high quality web solutions. You'll also contribute to building and configuring our CI/CD pipelines and diligently addressing web application vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicating and collaborating closely with leadership for direction and guidance from a prioritization and alignment perspective.

  • Contributing to the entire software development lifecycle for UI projects, from conception to deployment and maintenance.

  • Following technical guidance and architectural oversight for UI projects, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and security protocols.

  • Assisting with the adoption of continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery.

  • Ensuring regular vulnerability scanning of web applications and addressing and remediating any identified security risks.

  • Building strategic partnerships with peer Cybersecurity teams as well as key stakeholders across multiple business units.

What we're looking for...

We are looking for an eager and ambitious individual willing to learn and grow both personally and professionally. The ideal candidate will have a technical background with at least 2-4 years of experience in software development, particularly in UI engineering, with a proven track record. You'll need an understanding of Angular, C#, and Microsoft SQL Server.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or two or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Proven experience in web development and related technologies.

  • Experience with front-end development best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, and performance optimization.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies.

  • Two years of development experience using Angular 8 or above.

  • Familiarity with HTML5, CSS and Typescript, and responsive design.

  • An understanding of RxJS, state management (eg: NgRx), and version control systems, particularly GIT.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Master's degree in a related field.

  • Hands-on experience with C#, Angular, MSSQL, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
