POSITION SPECIFICS

Dr. Troy Sutton's Laboratory at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to pursue cutting-edge research on airborne transmission of influenza and SARS-CoV-2 viruses. In parallel, the candidate will also develop and evaluate vaccines against these pathogens in animal models. The candidate will be responsible for writing proposals and publications, and training students and technical staff. The candidate is required to have a Ph.D. and must have experience in some of the following techniques: molecular virology, molecular biology, virus and cell culture, DNA/RNA/protein techniques and work with BSL2 pathogens.

Experience working with animal models of infectious disease is valued but is not required. The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (both oral and written) skills. The candidate will perform research under both biosafety level 2 and 3 enhanced conditions. This position is located at the Penn State campus in University Park, PA.

The candidate must be able to provide evidence that all requirements have been met for completion of a Ph.D. prior to the effective date of hire.
