The IT Technical Engineer-Time & Attendance is responsible for the end-to-end management of time & attendance systems, guiding them from strategic planning through development, implementation, and ongoing optimization. This role defines system requirements, leads technical enhancements, and ensures seamless integration with payroll and workforce management processes. By aligning solutions with business priorities and industry best practices, the engineer delivers reliable, scalable tools that support compliance, operational efficiency, and employee experience. The ideal candidate will champion standardization and continuous improvement to drive consistency and value across the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Project Management & Execution: Apply strong project management skills to identify and prioritize work streams, allocate resources effectively, meet project timelines, and maintain consistent communication through status updates. Ensure initiatives are executed with precision and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between the business, Functional IT teams, and external vendors or partners. Facilitate support activities, system acquisitions, enhancement planning, upgrades, and long-term road mapping to ensure cohesive and effective collaboration.
  • Technology Strategy & Innovation: Stay informed on existing and emerging technologies to assess their potential impact on time & attendance systems. Leverage this knowledge to recommend innovative solutions that enhance system capabilities and business outcomes.
  • Process Optimization & Automation: Lead efforts to evaluate and improve business processes, identifying opportunities for automation and increased efficiency. Champion initiatives that streamline operations and reduce manual effort across timekeeping workflows.
  • Application Support & Maintenance: Oversee application troubleshooting, maintenance, and support. Address production issues, recommend system improvements, and coordinate with IT support teams to ensure timely and effective problem resolution.
  • Vendor Oversight & Best Practices: Provide strategic guidance to service partners and third-party vendors, ensuring that system fixes and enhancements adhere to industry best practices and organizational standards.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop test scripts and manage system and user acceptance testing to validate functionality, performance, and compliance. Ensure all changes meet quality expectations before deployment.
  • Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve reported system issues, applying analytical and technical expertise to restore functionality and minimize disruption to business operations.
  • Leadership: Drives a positive employee experience through leadership by way of employee coaching.

WHAT WE'RE SEEING:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, computer information systems, management information systems computer science or related field and 8+ years of experience in IT; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Minimum of 6+ years' experience with business application software support.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think creatively to effectively solve business issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Provide guidance/oversight to our service partners and technical expertise in key areas such as ERP systems and support applications.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
