The Lead Clinical Preceptor is responsible for delivery of education and training to nursing staff focused on the care of individuals, and families in an ambulatory care setting. Under the direction of nursing leadership, the Lead Clinical Preceptor assists with patients' wellness, acute illness, chronic disease, disability, and end of life needs while maintaining the practice standards through education and training. The Lead Clinical Preceptor is expected to demonstrate leadership skills; assessing individual's competence to ensure patients receives high quality care. The Lead Clinical Preceptor collaborates with nursing leadership to attest those activities related to orientation and continuing education of nursing staff is provided. The Lead Clinical Preceptor acts as a coach and mentor to nursing staff. The Lead Clinical Preceptor upholds patient safety standards.

Position Details:



  • Location: 2 Centerock Rd, West Nyack, NY
  • Schedule: 37.5 Total hours per week. Monday - Friday between 8:00am & 5:30pm


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Guides, advises and instructs nursing staff as they collect health status information (pre-visit planning, vital signs, pain level, med reconciliation etc.) from multiple sources such as; patients, caregivers, members of the health care team, documented records and other relevant sources
  • Gathers input from nursing staff, providers, patients and families on ways to improve patient care and departmental services. Shares ideas for improvement with nursing leadership
  • Ensures that nursing staff documents and reports the information and data collected in a retrievable understandable and readable format
  • Guides preceptors and nursing staff with department specific interventions as directed (phlebotomy, EKG, etc) during office visits, according to regulations, standards and organizational policy and procedure
  • Reinforces and ensures that age appropriate, population specific care is conducted in a compassionate, caring, culturally and ethically sensitive manner
  • Communicates openly with nursing staff, patients, caregivers and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care
  • Uses effective professional communication skills and tools to acquire and disseminate relevant information to nursing staff, patients, caregivers and health care providers across the continuum of care. Attends staff meetings and huddles to facilitate problem solving
  • Integrates Crystal Run Healthcare policies and procedures that relate to confidentiality, infection control, fire safety, security, equipment management, hazardous waste handling and emergency situations into the practice setting.
  • Creates a welcoming environment to foster learning and embraces opportunities to teach advocate for and coach nursing staff employees
  • Ensures orientation paperwork, ongoing competencies are completed
  • Updates nursing leadership on new employees' progress
  • Identifies areas for continuing education and facilitates in-service education sessions, Health Stream training modules or review of training materials. Education sessions are focused on the learning needs of providers and all nursing staff.
  • Educates staff on patient safety standards and is active in the remediation process if a standard is not met
  • Participates in Practice Health and Safety Assessments as an assessor (RN Only)

  • Assist with any other responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to staffing covering and scheduling

Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Certified as a Medical Assistant



Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.74 to $31.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
