What to Expect
The CNC Application Engineer will lead high-precision CNC machining setup operations, focusing on optimizing machine performance, process efficiency, and product quality. This role involves advanced program interpretation, tooling selection, fixture design, and problem-solving for complex machining tasks. Collaboration with design engineering teams and manufacturing suppliers will be essential to drive process improvements, reduce cycle times, and achieve cost-effective production outcomes.

What You'll Do
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, CAD models, and CAM programs to prepare CNC milling machines for production
  • Select, install, and align tooling, fixtures, and work-holding devices for efficient and repeatable setups
  • Perform machine offsets, tool length adjustments, and part probing to ensure dimensional accuracy
  • Set up multi-axis milling machines for prototype and production runs
  • Analyze and optimize cycle times, tool paths, and machining parameters for efficiency and quality
  • Recommend tooling upgrades, fixture improvements, and programming changes to minimize scrap and downtime
  • Act as a technical liaison between design engineering and manufacturing suppliers to support design for manufacturability
  • Drive cost-down activities by systematically analyzing every aspect of the machining process

What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of CNC machining setup and operation experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role
  • Experience with advanced multi-axis milling equipment such as Haas, Mazak, or DMG Mori
  • Proficiency in G-code/M-code and familiarity with CAM software like Mastercam or Fusion 360
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Expert knowledge of cutting tool selection, speeds/feeds, and work-holding methods
  • Ability to work with a variety of materials including aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time

    Expected Compensation
    $131,440 - $236,160/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
