Econometrica specializes in research, econometric, analytical, and technical support for our clients, with an emphasis on data science, data analytics, statistics, economic analyses, and program implementation and evaluation services. The Opportunity Econometrica is seeking a Senior Economist with at least 7 years of experience conducting economic, regulatory impact, or benefit-cost analyses for public-sector clients. The analyst will support work for the U.S. Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). The position involves working with PHMSA to assess policy implications and regulatory impacts of initiatives such as proposed changes to regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials. As a lead researcher, you will be engaged on multiple projects simultaneously and will be planning, developing, conducting and/or overseeing different types of complex analyses, including benefit-cost analyses, cost-effectiveness analyses, break-even analyses, estimates of return on investment, financial analyses, regulatory impact analyses, statistical and econometric analyses, forecasting, development and application of economic and statistical models, regional economic impact assessments, valuation of non-market goods, etc. The position requires collaborating with other researchers across multiple disciplines, including economists, engineers, lawyers, scientists, transportation planners, statisticians, political scientists, financial analysts, technical editors, etc. You will also be responsible for providing guidance, direction, and review to junior and mid-level staff to produce high-quality research deliverables.
